A Wonder and a Miracle

July 25, 2009

I have monthly calls with some friends in Australia, to talk about the amazing and the miraculous, amongst other things. What came up in our latest conversation was to consider the premise that we need visual proof to corroborate what we would call miraculous. Here is an extract from that call.

My ideas about the miraculous have changed over time because my measure of  a miracle is constantly being challenged and updated. It’s got to the point where I know that the laying on of hands, in the traditional sense of miracles, is the ability to know with surety what a person needs at that moment and to be focused enough to take them through their breakthrough.

I have done that many times, utilising my skills as a therapist and my insight into what is energetically required. What guides me is my knowing and my ability to communicate with consciousness on any level.

So what is a miracle? Our call raised the point that few people seemed to have the ability or calling to do Jesus-like instant healing.

Is that true, I wonder. I talk with my friends and they are in good health. They know that they literally create their reality by focusing on what’s important to them. They know that they can create an illusion of ill health just as easily as they can maintain their well-being.

It’s not a question of what they believe in – it’s more about who they choose to be and what they choose to do. Being responsible for every thought and action.

In the words of the Paul Simon song – “these are the days of miracles and wonders”. The days in which we create our lives and our world on a solid foundation of understanding. And in that understanding is the acceptance that we are creating ourselves – we are responsible for the honour of living.

Everything we see around us is a living wonder and a miracle, something magnificent and stupendous. What proof do we need of miracles when each one of us is a living miracle? What expectations do we hold about miracles and wonders that stop us from seeing with great clarity what is really here?
